The life in Roppongi
After long being disconnected from the net, finally, I got the Internet connection last weekend. Though I can always check the web at the office, having the connection at home makes me quite comfortable. After the moving, so may events, including good and bad, kept me too busy to handle myself but the new life have been stabilising in these days. Actually, the life in Roppongi is very very nice. I would say, a sort of ideal. I’ve been forming three habits I was planning to develop before moving.
One is commuting by bike instead of jam-packed train in Tokyo. Although there are so many up and down hills in this are, my bike has in fact got electric-assisted. Thus, even ascent hills is refreshing (and needless to say, decent hills is absolutely thrilling!)
The second habit is exercise. I’ve got a membership of a gym, which is pretty close to my flat, five minutes on foot. Before working, I go there and swim at least 500m. Swimming is an exhausting thing indeed, however, I feel somehow more concentrated at the office. Maybe, this is because, I don’t have to think complex things under the water but just move my body. Therefore, I guess, I can start my brain working smoothly.
The last but not least, actually, this is the main reason of moving here, is library. At the top part of Roppongi hills’ main tower, there is a library which opens to member only. In fact, it’s more like self-study room rather than typical library even though there are many business related books on the shelfs. At first glance, it appeared me bit strange since quite a few adults were studying silently. Telling about myself, it’s absolutely strenuous to get my mood back after coming back to home. At my room, I’m prone to spend time just idly. In this case, this library is the perfect place for studying. What’s more, Roppongi hills is very exclusive place, indeed. That’s why a lot of business elites who study industriously work there. While I am not working there, sitting in front of the window through which I can see Tokyo’s majestic nightscape from 49th floor, I imagine at though I’m one of them, at least I’ll be so.
Overall, living in Roppongi is, as many perceive, bit costly. Nonetheless, everything is worthwhile and I’m wholeheartedly satisfied with this situation. I still have so many tasks such as taxing and so on, but hopefully, from the next month, this enriched life will make me more creative and do something interesting.
