TOEIC
I tried TOEIC exam last November. Although I have CAE which is quite strong English certificate, TOEIC is by far the most widely accepted certificate among Japanese society, and I was actually keen on my score. For the present, I set my goal, 900 point. Incidentally, I had never tried this before.
All in all, I managed to achieve it even though hadn’t study a lot. Anyway, I saved my face as a CAE holder. In fact, 900 over is pretty much as a Japanese, however, as an advanced English speaker, this is the starting point. I can fairly make use of English without big problems but there are still huge gup between native speakers.
In the final analysis, it subjects to my aspiration as usual. Actually, I don’t need such a proficient English, but certainly it’s quite useful. So, next year I’ll continue study English and maybe try the highest grade for Japanese official English certificate.

Park Hyatt: GIRANDOLE
Hotel Park Hyatt, which is famous for the set of the movie Lost in Translation, is indeed one of the most luxurious hotels in Japan. At the hotel, there is a French restaurant called GIRANDOLE and I went there for lunch, by my own, without any companies.
The view from 41st floor of Shinjuku Park Tower was totally different from the one I always see on the ground and I felt as though I’d been in a novel place.
The photo is crab’s spaghetti I ate at the time. Usually, I try to avoid eating pastas made with crabs and shrimps because those make the pastas quite smelly unless chefs use quite good materials and make good use of them. Nevertheless, it was just fabulous. I’d maybe order a proper size at the next time.
Well, to tell the reason why I went such a prestigious place, my younger sister works there and today I had meeting with our client at Shinjuku. Therefore, I decided to try there. The sister recommended me before that I come at weekdays since there are usually not so many customers. As a result, I got fantastically special service but I guess, from the viewpoint of the other customers, an early 20’s man who ate a beautiful course must’ve appeared bit bizarre. What is he?
The photos are meat loaf and dessert actually sized up by the staff. So even if you go there maybe you can’t get them. I actually found it’s quite reasonable. It’s not cheap though, I would pay more than I had to for the service (even without special service for me).
OK, at first so exclusive was it that I’d in fact got tense until I got a seat.
I often go to restaurants alone. I can enjoy little conversations with the staff. However, this time, I really had butterflies in my stomach. As I mentioned before, it was totally different from the place in which I live. When I look around, many executive like people who wore nice cloths caught my eyes.
But, in reality the hotel and staff don’t radiate unapproachable aura. They are rather quite courteous, accommodating, amiable, and namely perfect. The problem is that I’m prone to exclude myself from there. Thus, finally I came up with an idea that I go there continually like once a few months and get used to there. Even though I’m bit inappropriate for there at this stage, I’m sure I can expand myself and eventually the restaurant will suit me.
It’s not the highest though, can fairy motivate me.

November
Before I noticed, November has gone already.
The last month was quite hectic for several reasons including guests from overseas. But the most profound thing is I started working for an international company since the beginning of November.
At first, I’d considered working as a self-employee. However, the company was so attractive since it has a lot of big name clients and we usually speak bouth Japanese and English that I changed my mind and joined them.
What’s more, we have a quite small team for the clients and I had to design a top page for a pitch at my first day. I can really feel that I’m regarded as an asset. Actually, quite a few designs I made went for pitches and some of them came back with good news. Although the contribution from directors was very important too, I was simply delighted with the fact that clients like my design.
The commuting time which takes around one and half hour is bit problematic though (I decided to move room in February) I’ll work there for a several year for my training.
