Internet is Essential?
Last weekend, I was very busy.
Because some of my friends had to go back their country, and we organized some farewell parties for them.
Although the parties succeeded, my heart is heavy.
I know that as the number of meetings increase, the number of fawells also increase.
I should, therefore, alter my thinking.
We live in the same planet, so meeting again is not impossible.
We can definitely get together anytime when we’d like to see each other.
It takes only less than 10 hours to fly to Japan from Australia.
Furthermore new meetings are waiting for us.
Don’t look back. Let’s look aead.
I hope me make lots of new friends in the future.
Well then, the prologue has been longer than usual, my second subject is “Internet”.
It is obvious to everyone that the internet is important.
Espesially for me who work with the internet, it could be said that the internet is essential.
But tha whole of the internet is truly important?
The answer is, I’m sure, “No”.
When I lived in Tokyo, I used to spend more than 3 or 4 hours furfing the net, for example, watching some news, reading funny and interesting articles, viewing computer graphics or well designed site, sufing “mixi” which is a kind of social network community, and so on.
On the ohter hand in Australia, I have to choose the contents I’d like to see.
Because acceess to the internet here is not good as that in Japan.
(I’ll write the details about the difference of internet environment between Japan and Australia someday.)
I realized essential daily internet sites are few.
It has been said for severel years “Information Literacy” is important.
That’s all right.
It is crucial to pick and choose from the flood of information, particularly in the web world.
Otherwise we would drown in the whirlpool of information.
Then, what is the essential?
It depends on the respective aims, I think one of the big merits of the internet is connectivitiy.
This page is good example.
You can know what I think when I am in Australia wherever you live.
And a particular example is, of course, e-mail.
It si definitely innovative.
It takes a few days to exchange mails even if we use airmail.
Using e-mail, we can exchange messages anytime, anyplace, immediately.
It make it easy for us to send & receive mails.
So we are conected continuously as we exchange information continually.
And that’s why I’m sure meeting again is possible.
Well until we meet again..

Cafe in Australia
Almost one month have passed since I left Japan.
Today I desided to start new content.
I will rwite about what I see, what I here, and what I feel here each week.
It is a little hard but good training for me.
Besides, some friends I met here can read these entries.
Though they can’t understand Japanese.
And furthermore, I can shou you the improvement of my English.
So, I’ll try.
Anyway, the first subject that should be celebrated is “cafes”
In Anstralia, there are more cafes than in Japan.
Even when I lived in Japan, I would often go to cafes.
So, I’ve been to cafes many times here but cafes in Australia are a little different from that in Japan.
I’m surprised iced coffee is always served with icecream.
But the biggest difference I think is the kind of customer group.
A lot of people regardless of age or sex enjoy themselves at cafes.
Actually I know some refined cafes in Tokyo which have good tase in atmosphere.
But they are known by just a fes people and it is hard to say going there is easy.
Thus, i envy Aussies who can access cafes easily.
Instead of cafes Japan has many chains “family restaurants” which are standardized, low prices, and not such a bud taste.
I think a few decades ago, there were many cafes in Japan.
BUt as chains of family restaurants have grown, cafes were driven away.
And frankly I don’t like them.
Because they are too cheap and sometimes I’m taken my comfort.
Tehrefore even if it is a bit expensive, I prefer cafe.
And it should be welcomed in there days the number of cafes are increasing in Japan.
In point of quality, cafes here are excellent.
Especially cuppuccinos which are served at some Italian cafes, they are delicious.
Perhaps the atmosphere in Aussie cafes is not as good as Japanese cafes.
However I don’t know Aussie cafes a lot of yet, an average quality cafe is enough for me.
I’ll go to a cafe today too.
